06Cannabis & you

I haven't used cannabis since the 70s. Where do I start?

With a conversation. Tell us what you remember, what you're hoping for, and how you'd like to feel. Edibles, micro-dose tinctures, and 1:1 CBD:THC formats are common starting points for returning consumers. We'll walk through it together.

Can cannabis help with sleep / pain / anxiety?

Many adults find it does. We'll talk through formats and dosages, but we are not doctors. Talk to your physician about interactions with medications you take.

How much should I take the first time?

Low and slow. For edibles: 2.5–5 mg THC. Wait 90 minutes before adding more. For flower or vape: one inhale and wait 10 minutes.

07Law & compliance

Is The Highline licensed?

Yes. Adult-use retail dispensary license OCM-RETL-2025-000417, issued by the New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM).

Where can I consume?

On private property only: your own home, or someone else's with permission. Not on the sidewalk, not in your car, not in public parks.

Can I bring cannabis on a plane?

No. Even between two legal states, cannabis crosses federal airspace and is federally illegal.

Will my purchase show up on a federal background check?

Your dispensary purchases are not reported to federal databases. However, federal law still classifies cannabis as Schedule I, relevant for federal employment, firearms, and immigration. We're happy to talk this through.
