A pre-roll is ground cannabis flower rolled in paper, ready to go. No grinder, no rolling, no learning curve. That is the whole appeal. Buy one, light it, done. For a first purchase, a single pre-roll is the lowest-commitment way to try a cultivar before you buy a full eighth of flower.
The three decisions that matter: format (single vs. pack), size (how much flower is in each), and whether it is infused. Get those right and everything else is preference. Below is how to read a pre-roll menu and match it to your situation, plus how to keep them fresh once you bring them home.
Singles vs. packs
A single is one pre-roll in a tube, usually 0.5 g or 1 g. It is the test-drive. If you want to try one of our craft cultivars without committing, grab a single. A multi-pack bundles smaller pre-rolls, often five or ten minis at roughly 0.3 to 0.5 g each. Packs lower the per-joint cost and give you shorter sessions, which is handy when you do not want a full gram in one sitting.
How many pre-rolls come in a pack?
Most packs hold five or ten pre-rolls. Ten-packs usually contain minis around 0.3 to 0.35 g each, sometimes called dogwalkers. Five-packs often run a bit larger. Total weight per pack commonly lands near 2 to 3.5 g, so you are trading one long session for several short ones.
Infused vs. non-infused
A standard pre-roll is just flower. An infused pre-roll adds concentrate, such as kief, hash, rosin, live resin, or THCa, into or onto the joint. That raises potency and changes the experience. Non-infused pre-rolls made from quality flower typically test around 15–25% THC. Infused versions often reach 30–50% or higher because the concentrate stacks on top of the flower.
Infused joints can also burn slower and feel denser, so a single can stretch into a longer session. Many people report a faster onset and a stronger, longer effect from infused joints compared to flower alone. If you are newer or pacing yourself, start with non-infused and a smaller size. Effects may vary. Please consume responsibly.
Are infused pre-rolls stronger than regular ones?
Generally yes. Adding concentrate to flower commonly pushes total THC into the 30 to 50 percent range or beyond, versus roughly 15 to 25 percent for flower alone. Many report a faster onset and a longer session. Go slow with infused joints, especially if you are new or returning after a break.
Reading the label
In New York, adult-use cannabis labels list total THC and total CBD in both milligrams and as a percentage. That lets you compare a 22% flower joint against a 38% infused one at a glance. Inhalable products like pre-rolls do not list a serving count, so the size on the tube plus the percentage is your guide. Note the cultivar name too, so you can reorder what you liked.
When a pre-roll is the convenient pick
- A first taste of a cultivar before buying a full eighth
- Sharing without passing a grinder and papers around
- A walk, a park, a short break where a mini does the job
- Travel-light moments where you want zero gear
- Sampling several strains from a variety pack
Freshness and storage
Pre-rolls are flower, so they dry out over time. Stored well, they hold up for months. Keep them in a cool, dark spot, ideally around 60 to 70°F, and away from light and heat. A two-way humidity pack in the range of 55 to 62% relative humidity helps the flower stay smooth instead of harsh. Leave each pre-roll in its sealed tube until you are ready, since air is what stales it fastest.
A single is a test-drive. A pack is your everyday rotation. Infused is when you want more from one joint.
Which should you pick?
- New or pacing yourself: a 0.5 g non-infused single in a balanced hybrid
- Trying our craft cultivars: a non-infused single, then reorder by name
- Short sessions or sharing: a pack of minis
- Experienced and want more from one joint: an infused single, taken slowly
- Best per-joint value: a multi-pack over buying singles one at a time
Our pre-rolls come from independent upstate growers, so the cultivar list rotates with what is harvested and rolled fresh.
