THCa Diamonds

THCa Diamonds are a crystalline cannabis concentrate made of nearly pure tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, often 96 to 99 percent THCa. They look like clear or amber gem-like crystals and are usually sold in a terpene-rich liquid called sauce. They turn into active THC only when heated.

What THCa Diamonds Are

THCa Diamonds are one of the most concentrated cannabis products on a dispensary shelf. They are crystalline structures made almost entirely of THCa, the acidic precursor to THC found in the raw cannabis plant. Lab results commonly show 96 to 99 percent or higher THCa. They look like clear, white, or amber gemstones, which is where the name comes from. Most of the time you will see them sitting in a thick, golden liquid called sauce.

Diamonds and Sauce

Diamonds rarely come alone. The crystals form and separate out from a terpene-heavy liquid during processing, and that liquid is the sauce. Sauce carries most of the aroma and flavor because it holds the terpenes. The crystals carry the potency. Together they are often labeled diamonds and sauce or diamond sauce. Some products are mostly clear diamonds with a light coating, others are loose crystals swimming in a lot of sauce.

Will raw THCa Diamonds get you high on their own?

Not in their raw state. THCa is non-intoxicating until heat converts it to THC through a process called decarboxylation. That is why diamonds are dabbed or vaped, not eaten cold. Once heated, that high THCa concentration becomes active THC, which is why these are very strong products.

Why It Matters to a Shopper

Diamonds are made for experienced consumers. Because the THCa content is so high, a small amount goes a long way once it is heated. New or low-tolerance shoppers usually start with much less intense products. If you do reach for diamonds, a rice-grain-sized portion is plenty for most people. Effects may vary. Please consume responsibly.

How It Shows On a NY Label

On a New York adult-use product, the label lists total THC and total THCa potency, batch and lot numbers, and lab testing results. New York calculates total THC by accounting for the THCa that converts when heated, using a standard factor of about 0.877 since THCa loses weight as carbon dioxide during decarboxylation. Every package also carries the OCM universal symbol, a 21+ warning, and child-resistant, tamper-evident packaging.

  • ·Look for the total THC and total THCa numbers on the label
  • ·Check the terpene content if flavor matters to you
  • ·Confirm the OCM universal symbol and batch number are present
  • ·Start with a very small amount given the high potency

FAQ · THCa Diamonds

What are THCa Diamonds in simple terms?

They are crystals of nearly pure THCa, the raw form of THC, pulled from cannabis extract. They look like tiny gems and usually sit in a flavorful terpene sauce. Heating them with a dab rig or vape turns the THCa into active THC.

How are THCa Diamonds different from live resin?

Live resin is a flavorful, terpene-rich whole concentrate from fresh-frozen cannabis. Diamonds are the crystallized THCa that separates out of that kind of extract. When diamonds are mixed back into terpene sauce, you get diamonds and sauce, which pairs high potency with strong flavor.

Are THCa Diamonds legal to buy in New York?

Yes, concentrates including diamonds are sold at licensed New York adult-use dispensaries to customers 21 and older. They must be lab tested and labeled with total THC potency, the OCM universal symbol, and a 21+ warning. Effects may vary. Please consume responsibly.
